COVID-19 Information and Resources for Organizations
Schools, care facilities, and other organizations can report outbreaks to help protect their communities from COVID-19.
Current face mask restrictions
Face masks may be required in certain facilities based on local restrictions. Please see the Active Health Officer Orders page for the most up to date information about current face mask restrictions in the City of Berkeley.
outbreak reporting requirements
The outbreak reporting requirements for long-term care facilities, health care facilities, and other non-healthcare settings such as schools, shelters and workplaces within the City of Berkeley follow guidance from Alameda County. The reporting thresholds for each of these types of settings can be found on Alameda County’s Reporting Requirements page.
Covered employers must continue to comply with the COVID-19 Non-Emergency Temporary Standards, for Cal/OSHA reporting requirements. Please visit Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Guidance and Resources for more details.
how to report exposure Events and outbreaks using spot
Facilities, schools, and workplaces can report COVID-19 exposures directly to the City of Berkeley Communicable Disease Prevention & Control Program (CDPCP) by using the School and Shared Portal for Outbreak Tracking (SPOT). For more information on SPOT and how to use it, visit the SPOT Help and Training Material page.
By entering detailed information in SPOT, the CDPCP can better address any questions or concerns. Please remember to select Berkeley as the Local Health Jurisdiction (not Alameda) when reporting an exposure or outbreak, and make sure the contact information is correct.
If you do not receive an email or call from the CDPCP within one business day, please email covid19@berkeleyca.gov. For any technical issues using SPOT, including issues logging in, please email the CalCONNECT Help Desk directly at CalCONNECT.Helpdesk@cdph.ca.gov.
