Electronic Plan Review

The Permit Service Center accepts only electronic submittal of documents in PDF file format for plan review and permitting purposes. Customers should bring drawings and other documents on a USB flash drive to the Permit Service Center at the time of permit application.

Files must be saved in PDF file format without security restrictions and be under 195 MB in size. After obtaining a permit number and paying fees at the Permit Service Center, applicants can add additional documents to their permit, obtain plan review comments and upload responses to comments from their home or office by using Permits Online.

The Permit Service Center provides stamped approved plans electronically upon permit issuance. Access to permit documents is limited to the contacts provided with the permit application and requires Online Service Center account registration. Revisions to approved and issued permits cannot be submitted online. Please complete a Revision to Approved Plans Application and submit revised plans in PDF format on a USB flash drive at the Permit Service Center.

Customers may use Permits Online to schedule an inspection and research building permits.   Online Permits Guide Cover

The Online Building Permits Guide provides step by step instructions for looking up permits, scheduling inspections, viewing the status of a permit, viewing and adding documents to a permit and more!

Licensed contractors can apply for Minor Permits online for single family homes and duplexes for Electric Vehicle Charging, Gas shut-off valves, HVAC replacements, Re-roofs, Solar Photovoltaic or Water heaters. Over the next year, service will be expanded to offer more permits online.
