COVID-19 Risk Reduction Order
December 5, 2020 | Effective December 7, 2020 | Updated January 9, 2021
This Order defines the current COVID-19 restrictions on activities and gatherings in the City of Berkeley. It was issued on December 5, 2020 to align local restrictions with the State of California's Regional Stay at Home Order.
It closes outdoor dining, hair salons, barbershops, and other personal care services, museums, movies theaters, wineries and bars, and limited services not included in critical infrastructure, and adds new restrictions to retail, hotels, and other sectors that remain open. It prohibits all social gatherings between people not part of the same household.
This Order was updated on January 8, 2021 to state that these restrictions will remain in effect in Berkeley until the Regional Stay at Home Order is rescinded by the State of California.
