PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Berkeley City Council meetings are being held remotely.

Watch and listen from home

City Council meeting agendas and materials are posted online. To watch or listen from home:

  • Listen on KPFB, 89.3 FM radio
  • Watch from Cable B-TV (Channel 33)
  • Watch streaming online

Comment by phone or on Zoom


  1. Dial 1-669-900-9128 and enter the Meeting ID. The meeting ID will be posted at the top of each meeting's agenda.
  2. To speak, press *9 when your item is called and wait for your turn. 
  3. The meeting Chair will announce when it is your turn to speak by reading your phone number.


  1. Follow the link posted on the first page of the meeting's agenda.
  2. To speak, use the "raise hand" icon near the bottom of the screen and wait.
  3. The meeting Chair will call your name when it is your turn.

To use this option, you will need to install the Zoom app. Zoom provides instructions that you can review in advance, including joining a test meeting. 

You are not required to provide your name to participate. Your name will appear on the screen however you enter it into the app. 

Please be mindful that remote meetings are public and will be recorded. All meeting rules of procedure and decorum, including speaker time limits, will apply.
