“Rainbow Fentanyl” has been appearing in numerous forms nationwide. This form of Fentanyl looks like candy and if ingested can be deadly.
On August 30th at 10:11 pm, an officer saw a person talking on their cellphone while driving in the area of San Pablo Avenue and Stanford Avenue. The vehicle (a 4dr sedan) did not have license plates on it. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the driver and learned that the driver was unlicensed. Officers later searched the vehicle and discovered a large quantity of illegal drugs (see below) along with cash and items indicative of drug sales.
- 592+ grams (over 1 lb.) of Fentanyl
- 100+ grams of Methamphetamine
- $3,800+ cash
- A digital scale
- Plastic storage baggies
The driver (a 21-year-old Oakland man) was arrested on suspicion of committing several drug related offenses.
