Open Position: Recreation Activity Leader at the Marina Office (Part-time, Temporary)

Must be 18 years or older
$17.33 per hour (to start) 

Position Overview
As a Recreation Activity Leader at the Berkeley Waterfront, you will be responsible for working in the Marina Office a part of our Marina Operations team. The person(s) selected for this role will assist Marina customers and park visitors with planning and coordinating their visits to the Marina, selecting slips, taking payment, logging customer information and transactions, and maintaining and enforcing Marina regulations and procedures for participants and spectators.   

Equivalent to graduation from high school and either two (2) years of progressively responsible experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis; or extensive training and/or experience in a specialized field of endeavor which has occurred over a period of several years and has resulted in an acceptable level of expertise and the ability to impart knowledge of this field to others.

Open Position: Waterfront Monitor (Part time/Temporary)

Compensation: $16.37/hr

Up to 19 hours per week
Shifts available 5:00pm-10:00pm Monday-Saturday; and 7:00am-10:00pm Sunday

General Responsibilities
Responsible for monitoring grounds at the Berkeley Waterfront. Monitor pathways and parking lots, maintain records about any safety issues or incidents observed, greet Waterfront patrons, slip-holders, customers and staff and record any of their reports about safety concerns. Work occurs outdoor, extensive walking involved as well as driving the City’s utility task vehicle.    

Required to maintain a valid California driver's license as well as a satisfactory driving record. Must be willing to work outdoors and must be willing to work evenings and/or weekends.  

Minimum Qualifications
Equivalent to graduation from high school. Must possess sufficient strength and stamina to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
