PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. San Pablo Park Playground and Tennis Court Renovation Project

Construction Update
This project includes renovation of the ages 2-5 playground, ages 5-12 playground and the tennis courts at San Pablo Park. The work includes replacement of the play structures, additional play elements, renovation of all tennis courts including surfacing, new fencing, new benches, bleachers, drinking fountains as well as ADA accessibility improvements. 

Renovation work inside the tennis courts is being prioritized and the tennis courts are anticipated to reopen to the public in November 2020.  

Start Date - August 3rd, 2020
Anticipated Completion Date - March 2021

Planning and Design Phase

Public meeting was held on June 9, 2018 to introduce current and planned projects and to gather feedback from the community to develop conceptual designs for the playground and tennis court renovation projects.  

A follow-up meeting was held April 13, 2019 to share three conceptual designs developed for the 2-5 and 5-12 playgrounds and potential color schemes for the tennis courts and gather feedback on a preferred design.
