Renovation Projects

at Strawberry Creek Park

Latest Update: May 1, 2019

Phase 1

The renovation of the Sports Courts at Strawberry Creek Park has been completed. A grand reopening ceremony was held on Monday, March 18, 2019 and the Courts are now open for use. Improvements include resurfaced basketball, tennis, volleyball and soccer courts, an ADA accessible ramp and path, new fencing and site furnishings, such as nets for tennis and volleyball courts, bicycle racks, benches and removable bollards. This project was funded by East Bay Regional Parks District’s Measure WW, the City of Berkeley’s Capital Improvements General Fund, and Measure F Parks Tax.

Phase 2

The project includes renovation of the 5-12 playground and restroom. A public meeting was held on May 19, 2018 and February 27, 2019 to gather feedback from the community to develop conceptual designs for the playground, restroom, site accessibility upgrades and other areas of the park in need of improvements. A follow up meeting was held on April 27, 2019 to present the conceptual designs developed for the 5-12 playgrounds and potential concepts for a sand play area, the restroom and hillside slide.
