Tenant Protection Ordinance

The Tenant Protection Ordinance  prohibits illegal evictions through the use of fraudulent and/or misleading representations, intimidating conduct, and coercive conduct. (B.M.C. 13.79.060) The Ordinance requires landlords to provide notice to tenants disclosing the existence of the Ordinance’s protections on a form prepared by the city. The City has made the form available and we have posted it on our website below. This disclosure notice is required to be provided at the inception of any tenancy beginning after April 2017, and must be included with any eviction notice. Failure to include this notice is a defense to unlawful detainer (eviction).
