The City of Berkeley web site is undergoing scheduled maintenance starting on Friday night, September 13 and ending on Saturday afternoon, September 14. During this time, most web pages should be available, but some resources may become unavailable for short periods of time.

PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

CANCELLED Special Workshop for Long-Term Tenants***
Tuesday, March 10th   
Location: Berkeley Central Library, 2090 Kittredge Street, 3rd Floor, Community Room
This workshop is facilitated by Rent Board Housing Counselors and includes Q and A with local housing attorneys. We will provide an overview of tenant rights with an emphasis on the specific rights and responsibilities of long-term tenants. We will discuss rent regulation and eviction protections, responding to harassment, and how to ensure that you have safe and habitable housing.
 

***In an abundance of caution, the Rent Board has cancelled the March 10 Long-term Tenant Workshop in light of Coronavirus (COVID-19).  It will be rescheduled at a later date.  The Rent Board will be hosting a Long-term Tenant web seminar within the next month so that you can participate from home--stay tuned for more information! There is also another in-person Long-term Tenant Workshop scheduled for later this year.  


Evictions in Berkeley: A Workshop for Landlords
