Green Lease Addendum

In order to encourage green, resilient and sustainable practices, the Berkeley Rent Board has drafted a Model Green Lease Addendum. This was done with valuable input from the Ecology Center and the Berkeley Rental Housing Coalition and addresses one of the goals of Berkeley's 2011 Building Energy Efficiency Solutions Report.

The Board encourages landlords and tenants to voluntarily work together in incorporating all or parts of the Green Lease Addendum into their existing leases and for owners to consider using all or parts of the Green Lease Addendum in future leases. For information about implementing the Green Lease Addendum into your lease and your rights and obligations please contact a housing counselor at (510) 981-RENT.
