PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. ABOUT THE BERKELEY RENT STABILIZATION BOARD

The Berkeley Rent Stabilization Board (the "Board") is a governing body of nine commissioners elected by Berkeley citizens. The Board oversees matters pertaining to rent control in Berkeley including:

  • Overseeing the Rent Stabilization Program (staff and day-to-day operations that implement rent control)
  • Implementing the Rent Control Ordinance
  • Enacting regulations
  • Hearing petition appeals filed by tenants and landlords

Board Meeting Basics
: The Board establishes an annual regular meeting calendar. As of January 2019, regular meetings of the Board will be held on the third Thursday of the month, except holidays, at 7:00 p.m. in the Berkeley Unified School District Board Room at 1231 Addison Street, unless otherwise specified. All meetings are open to the public and participation is encouraged. All meetings are broadcast and webcast live, unless otherwise noted. The Board may also schedule Special Meetings as needed throughout the year.
