5. APPEAL – 8:30 p.m.** Case No. T-5589 (1411 Kains Avenue, Unit #A) – 30 min.
  
** This appeal will not be heard before 8:30 p.m. but may be heard any time thereafter.

Landlord filed an appeal of a hearing examiner decision that awarded a rent refund of $1,640.27 and determined that the tenants were entitled to the return of the entire $4,600.00 security deposit. On appeal, Landlord argues that she was prejudiced by her inability to attend the hearing, and by the racial profiling by the hearing examiner, as well as her contentious relationship with the Executive Director of the Rent Board. Landlord offers no legal support for any of her claims on appeal, and fails to articulate any legal grounds to reverse or remand the decision. Furthermore, a review of the record establishes that the hearing examiner correctly ruled on the issues before the Rent Board. Therefore, the decision should be affirmed.
 

6. Future Special Meetings and/or Public Hearings: The Rent Board will hold a public hearing at its regularly-scheduled monthly meeting on May 15th at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.
