4. Approval of the December 16, 2013 Regular Meeting minutes

5. Appeal Time Certain – 8:00 p.m. - Appeal T-5359 (1275 Bonita Avenue, #302)

This is a tenant appeal of a hearing examiner decision that awarded the tenant $150.00 in rent ceiling reductions for several days when his water was shut off for all or part of the day. On appeal, Tenant argues that the hearing examiner should have also awarded him damages for several other alleged decreases in services. Specifically, Tenant argues that he has been repeatedly harassed by the landlords, requests rent decreases for reductions in housing services related to parking, and claims that he should be compensated for an inspection that was not necessary. The tenant argues that, for various reasons, he is entitled to an award of $5.00 per month for the difficulties he has allegedly suffered due to problems with the parking area but does not specify an amount for the other alleged violations. A review of the record, however, establishes that the hearing examiner correctly ruled on the issues before the Rent Board. Therefore, the decision should be affirmed.
