Shoreline Cleanup 2018 

Individuals, families and groups are welcome to join us for the Earth Day Shoreline clean-up.  We meet at the Shorebird Park Nature Center.  If you'd like to be part of this clean-up, just call or email to let us know you and your friends are interested. We will send you any pertinent information and waivers for those under 18 yrs.

Happy Good Time: A Fun & Safe Skateboarding Event | All Ages

Saturday, May 5, 2018 | 10:00AM - 3:00PM | Skate Park | Free 

A free introduction for skaters and parents. Parents are encouraged to participate (ages 7 and under must be accompanied by a guardian). Food, music and prizes! *Participants must wear a helmet. (Knee pads and elbow pads recommended.)

Kids Triathlon | Ages 6-17

Saturday, May 12, 2018 | 8:00AM - 12:00PM | King Pool | $35

This swim, bike and running event is held on a completely off-street course. All participants receive a race t-shirt, a goodie bag and a participation medal. The fastest three boys and girls in each age group will receive trophies.  Entry deadline: May 4th.

Community Yard Sale & Craft Fair | All Ages

Saturday, May 19, 2018 | 11:00AM - 3:00PM | James Kenney Courts | $15 (Res) /$18 (Non-Res)

It’s time for spring cleaning! Get ready for summer by cleaning out your closets and garages and join with neighbors for our largest community yard sale ever! One table, two chairs and space will be provided for all participants registered to sell your previously used items. Pre-registration is required. Registration deadline: May 11, 2018. Setup begins at 9:30am.

3-on-3 Basketball Tournament | Ages 8-18 (Mini Skill Clinic Ages 5-7)

Saturday, June 2, 2018 | 9:00AM - 5:00PM | San Pablo Park | Free (Res) / $5 (Non-Res)

Join us at San Pablo Park for a fun-filled day of basketball! All teams are guaranteed at least 2 games (pool play in the morning and elimination games in the afternoon). There will be a mini skills clinic provided for youth, ages 5-7, during lunch! 

Pre-register online or at a Recreation Hub office. Register by May 25 to save your spot! Registration is also available on-site (on a first-come, first served basis). All participants must have a completed registration form with parent signature to participate.

Community Picnic | All Ages

Thursday, June 28, 2018 | 9:30AM - 2:00PM | Grove Park | Free

Join the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Services Center/YAP at our annual Community Picnic as we celebrate the Fourth of July. We will have a variety of activities for youth and teens, 3 on 3 basketball games, waterslides, giant inflatables, wall climbing, cotton candy, petting zoo, snow cones, Tot Zone and more. Youth ages 10 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Stop the Violence Block Party - National Night Out | All Ages

Tuesday, August 1, 2018 | 3:00PM - 7:00PM | McGee Ave., between Oregon & Stuart | Free

This community event is designed to promote and encourage South Berkeley residents to come together as a supportive community to focus on youth and families in the neighborhood. It allows Berkeley teens to address their concerns about violence through dance, music, and public performance. This event will feature live entertainment, information booths, jumpers, face painting and food. This event is presented in partnership with McGee Ave. Baptist Church.
