Movies in the Park 2018  

Join us for a free outdoor movie Kubo and the Two Strings  on a large portable 20' x 12' inflatable movie screen and premium audio visual movie equipment for outdoor cinemas. Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the movie begins. Bring blankets, sleeping bags and/or low-back beach chairs with a maximum height of 9 inches off the ground, so the view of other patrons is not blocked. A flashlight or headlamp makes walking out at the end of the night easier. Limited street parking is available. This is an alcohol free event.

Music in the Park | Family Concerts | All Ages | Free   

Family Concerts

Join us for a free outdoor concert for everyone to enjoy!  The Family Concerts Series held on the 2nd Saturday of each month until October, will include Jazz + R & B, Hip Hop, and the Harvest Festival. The sounds of the big stage will feature local Bay Area artists and bands with a festival atmosphere to include vendors, food and a Kid's Zone with bubble station, bounce house, face painting, and much more!

Martial Arts Tournament | Ages 5-18 | Free for Spectators   

Saturday, September 22 - 9am - 4pm - MLK Jr. Youth Services Gym

We will be kicking it at this youth martial arts tournament. Local athletes will be competing for honors and trophies. Come watch the excitement! Only athletes need to pre-register. Participant fees vary. Spectators are welcome to show up on the day of the event.

Halloween Community Parade | All Ages |Free   

Wednesday, October 31- 3pm - 6pm - Frances Albrier Community Center

Enjoy the chills and thrills of this Halloween celebration. Join our creative, cute, creepy and festive parade as we make our way down the streets and around San Pablo Park. Festivities include a costume contest, freeze dance, food and goodie bags! Kids- please make sure your parents remember their costumes, too.

Wednesday, October 31- 6pm - 9pm - MLK Youth Services Center/YAP

Get ready to scream as you enter the biggest and scariest haunted house in Berkeley. Come join in the fun as we have a ghastly and ghoulish good time. Get your best Halloween outfit ready for an evening of music, fun cotton candy, photo booth, fright and jumpers for the little goblins. Special dance performance to "Thriller" by the YAP Dance Team. Please be aware you must remove your costume masks and hoods before entering the building. *Ages 8 and under, must be accompanied by an adult to enter the HAUNTED HOUSE.

Holiday Food Drive | All Ages |Free    

Monday - Friday, November 1st -30th- 8:30am - 6pm - All Community Centers, Pools and the Recreation Hub

Help us help others. The City of Berkeley Therapeutic Recreation program will be hosting a holiday food drive during the month of November. We will be collecting non-perishable food items from the community to donate to the Berkeley Food Pantry. Show your support and help us build a better community by donating items.

Donations can be made at all City Community Centers, Pools or at the Recreation Customer Service Hub. Hours vary by location. Please call for more information.

Stay and play at our Winter Wonderland! Experience tot-friendly games such as Snowflake Toss, Big Rain Drop Throw, Windy Parachute games, and pin the Nose on the Snowman, we'll also have a creative art station where tots can make a fun winter craft! Prizes and light refreshments will be offered. Tots must be accompanied by adults.

Join us in front of the Berkeley Yacht Club for some winter fun for the whole Family! We'll have food, music, games, snow play, and visits with Santa. Don't forget to bring your jackets and blankets to bundle up and enjoy the parade of lighted boats. *Youth under 18 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.
