Join us for an intimate outdoor concert series for children and families.  Designed to be more accessible to small children, each concert will have an interactive children’s performance, as well as some arts and crafts, bubble station and face painting.  Families are encouraged to come enjoy the ambiance of our local parks, bring blankets and maybe even a picnic snack to enjoy. Sponsored by the City's Department of Parks, Recreation and Waterfront, KidChella music series is sure to be one for the books!

Thursday, June 28, 2018 | 9:30AM - 4:00PM | Grove Park | Free

Join the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Services Center/YAP at our annual Community Picnic as we celebrate the Fourth of July. We will have a variety of activities for youth and teens, 3 on 3 basketball games, waterslides, giant inflatables, wall climbing, cotton candy, petting zoo, snow cones, Tot Zone and more. Youth ages 10 and under must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Don’t miss our annual cardboard boat races and other fun activities. Watch and cheer on your favorite boats, created by youth from local community centers and playground programs. There will be fast, creative and highly decorated boats, sure to entertain!

Stop the Violence Block Party - National Night Out | All Ages

Tuesday, August 7, 2018 | 3:00PM - 7:00PM | McGee Ave., between Oregon & Stuart | Free

This community event is designed to promote and encourage South Berkeley residents to come together as a supportive community to focus on youth and families in the neighborhood. It allows Berkeley teens to address their concerns about violence through dance, music, and public performance. This event will feature live entertainment, information booths, jumpers, face painting and food. This event is presented in partnership with McGee Ave. Baptist Church.

Join City of Berkeley staff for a day of fun, fitness, and friendship. After the opening ceremony and Parade of Nations, youth will participate in various Olympic-style sports and events, such as sprints, relays, steeple chase, soccer, basketball, and much, much more!
