19-11258-C - PRW Sport Court Asphalt Repair and Resurfacing

Scope of Work: The scope of services shall include, but is not limited to work similar to the scope presented below. The work will be conducted at six (6) separate locations within the City of Berkeley. The project consists of the following items:

  1. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Basketball court at Greg Brown Park. Located at 1907 Harmon Street, Berkeley, CA 94703.
  2. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Tennis, Soccer and Volleyball courts at Strawberry Creek Park. Located at 1260 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA 94702.
  3. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Basketball and Volleyball courts at Cedar Rose Park. Located at 1300 Rose Street, Berkeley, CA 94704.
  4. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Tennis and Practice courts at Willard Park located at 2720 Hillegass Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94705.
  5. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Tennis and Basketball courts at San Pablo Park located at 2800 Park Street, Berkeley, CA 94702.
  6. The asphalt crack repair and acrylic color resurfacing and striping of Basketball court at Codornices Park located at 1201 Euclid Avenue, Berkeley, CA 94708.

California Contractor License Classification required: B - General Building Contractor or C-12 - Earthwork and Paving Contractor or C-33 Painting and Decorating Contractor.

Contractor shall submit all contract documents before Friday, October 26, 2018 by 2:00 p.m.
Contractor shall be prepared to start work on Monday, November 5, 2018.

Estimate:

The Engineer’s estimate for the work is $145,000.

Scope of Work: The work done under these specifications includes but is not limited to: concrete pathway, decomposed granite, subgrade preparation, aggregate base course, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving, paver installation, tree protection, plating, hydroseed, pavement markings, striping, signage and safety lighting, as specified.

18-11180-C (Re-Issued) - Panoramic Hill Rehabilitation Project

Scope of Work: The work done under these specifications includes but is not limited to: pavement rehabilitation, construction of sidewalk, curb and gutter, driveways, planting strips, retaining walls, thrie beam barrier, reconstruction of curb ramps, removal of concrete, removal of posts and chain linked fence, reconstruction and construction of cross drains and other drainage features, restoring pavement markings, and traffic control.

The Bidders are hereby advised that the work on Panoramic Hill requires adherence to strict working hours. Bidders are referred to the section entitled “Traffic Control” of the Special Provisions for detailed requirements. Bidders are highly advised to field visit the project site prior to bidding.

Scope of Work – Base Bid: The work done under these specifications includes but is not limited to: traffic control, removal and disposal of pavement surfaces and base materials, removal and disposal of concrete curb and gutter, excavation and installation of cistern structure with associated inlet and outlet control structures and piping, installation of manholes and catch basins with associated storm drain pipeline, installation of stormwater treatment bio-swale with plantings, planting of trees, backfilling and compaction of excavations, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving, slurry sealing pavement, coordination of hydrant and water line removal and relocation with EBMUD, protection and relocation of underground utility services (e.g. gas, water sewer, electrical, telecomm), installation of concrete curbs, sidewalk, curb ramps, and pavement markings, striping, and markers, protection of monuments, light poles, trees, catch basins and inlets, and cross drains as specified.

The Bidders are hereby advised that the work on Woolsey is near the Ashby BART Station. The site is adjacent to the Ed Roberts Campus, a facility providing walk-in services to the disabled community and focuses on disability access. Vehicle and pedestrian access and traffic control will be strictly enforced, and at least one-way traffic shall be maintained throughout the construction period.

Scope of Work – Additive Items: The work done under these specifications is generally on the south side of Woolsey and includes but is not limited to: traffic control, removal and disposal of pavement surfaces and base materials, removal and disposal of concrete curb and gutter, planting of trees, backfilling and compaction of excavations, hot-mix asphalt (HMA) paving, protection and relocation of underground utility services (e.g. gas, water sewer, electrical, telecomm), installation of concrete curbs, sidewalk, curb ramps, light poles, trees, catch basins and inlets, as specified.

California Contractor License Classification required: A - General Engineering. The contractor shall possess a Class A license at the time this contract is awarded.

Estimate:

Base Bid - $1.3 million
Additive Bid - $300,000
Base and Additive Bid - $1.6 million
