20-11366 - Softball Infield Renovation Project

Scope of Work: Berkeley sport field renovation sites include, but are not limited to: Codornices Park field, Glendale La Loma Park field, Grove Park field, James Kenney Park field, Ohlone Park field, San Pablo Park – fields 1 & 2; all within the city of Berkeley, California.

This contract involves the renovation of two of the (skinned) work areas or athletic infield(s) and their adjacent transition zones (TZ’s) located at the sports fields sites listed above. Square footage of the skinned areas vary by park location. Park and infield work areas will be fenced off by the City of Berkeley and closed to the public during the renovation period (usually following the end of recreational programs scheduled around the end of November of each year). All renovation work must be performed Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (see work area maps/Attachments). Pending unforeseen weather complications, the Contractor and the City of Berkeley Project Manager, Nyles Gregory, will select an alternate week for the field renovation schedule to begin and continue if needed. See Appendix A for the full Scope of Work.

California Contractor License Classification required: Class A – General Engineering Contractor or Class B – General Building Contractor or Class C –12 Earthwork and Paving Contractor or Class C –27 Landscape Contractor

Note: Contractor shall submit all contract documents before December 12, 2019 by 2:00 p.m.
Contractor shall be prepared to start work on December 16, 2019 (dates subject to change).

Estimate:

$47,500

Duration:

Substantial completion - 60 calendar days
Final completion - 90 calendar days

Location:

Work is to be performed at the following locations:
(a) Ohlone Park Softball Infield: access is adjacent to 1525 Delaware Street, Berkeley 94703 (Attachment A)
(b) Codornices Park Softball Infield: 1202 Euclid Ave, Berkeley CA, 94708 (Attachment B).

Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Conference: A non-mandatory conference is scheduled for November 21, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. at 1523 Delaware Street. Each of the work locations is open to the public during normal business or daylight hours. It is recommended that bidders visit the sites independently to review site conditions prior to bid.
