Part of the Support Services Division, the Property and Evidence Unit is staffed by two members of BPD, a Community Services Officer Supervisor and a Community Services Officer. They are responsible for the secure storage of all property and evidence that comes to the department from various sources..

Property collected as evidence, recovered from any source, or turned over as found property or for safe keeping, is stored in the Property and Evidence Room.

The following are the retention timelines for items/property booked in two classifications -

             Safekeeping        60 days

             Found Property   90 days

Hours of operation during which you can claim property and evidence are Monday through Friday (excluding Holidays and weekends) from 2:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m
