The City of Berkeley web site is undergoing scheduled maintenance starting on Friday night, September 13 and ending on Saturday afternoon, September 14. During this time, most web pages should be available, but some resources may become unavailable for short periods of time.

PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Temporary Partial or Complete Park Closures

Partial Closures
  • Aquatic Park South Pathway Trail Maintenance – Aquatic Park eastern pathway from the entrance at the south traffic circle parking lot to Grayson Street will be closed from April 9th, 2020 to April 24th, 2020. Please see attached Construction Notice for detour detail.”
  • Berkeley Bay Trail Extension Segment Three (BBTE3) and projects at South Cove Sailing Basin Area:  Partial closure of the following areas for renovations from February to April, 2020: 1) Bay Trail Extension Segment 3 (existing path and sailing club front entrances), 2) the middle sailing dock, and 3) the east and west sailing docks.   
  • John Hinkel Park – Northeastern area closure for renovation through June 2020
  • James Kenney Park, Age 2-5 and 5-12 play areas – Closed for renovation through September 2020
  • Slip Holders L & M Dock Marina Restroom - Closed through April 30.
  • Berkeley Rose Garden and Tennis Courts – partial closures from June 2020 through December 2020.  Garden remains open, please observe on-site signs and fencing restricting access to certain areas of the rose garden and site.  No reservations for tennis courts at this time.  Tennis Court No. 1 and the practice tennis court are closed.  Tennis Courts No. 2 and 3 may be closed periodically, based on work progress, and are available on a drop-in basis at this time.
