ECHO LAKE FAMILY CAMP REGISTRATION OPENS JANUARY 14, 2019
Youth Camp and CIT Registration opens Wednesday, January 16, 2019 - Be Part of Nearly a Century of Berkeley Tradition!

 We are now accepting registration for Echo Lake Family Camp, Artist-In-Residence, Summer Staff, Guest Chef, and Work Weekend Programs.  Registration for Echo Lake Youth Camp and CIT Programs opens Wednesday, January 16, 2019.  50+ Camp registration opens Monday, February 11, 2019. 

Family Camp

Berkeley residents can register for Echo Lake Family Camp starting Monday, January 14, 2019, continuing traditions built through generations of campers amidst the beauty of the High Sierras. Echo Lake family camp blends camp culture of both Echo Lake and Berkeley Tuolumne family camps, and this year campers can choose family camp dates in June, July, or a new weekend session August 16-18.  The registration form, registration schedules, the calendar, and program fees are on the Echo Lake Camp website.  For additional program information, you can call the Recreation Office at 981-5140 or visit us online.  

 ·         Berkeley residents registration for Family camps opened at 9 am on January 14, 2019 at the Recreation Administration Office at 2701 Telegraph Ave.

·         Non-Berkeley resident's registration for Family Camp begins Friday, January 18, 2019 at 9am at the same location.

 

Youth Camp and Counselor In Training (CIT): Online Youth Camp and CIT registration will open Wednesday, January 16, 2019.

50+ Camp: This year, we will again offer two (2) sessions of 50+ Camp.  Registration will open Monday, February 11, 2019.  

Other Programs: We are currently accepting Summer Staff, Artist In Residence and Guest Chef Applications, as well as Work Weekend registrations. A full list of program schedules, including the Friends of Berkeley Tuolumne Camp (FOBTC) Labor Day Weekend and BLUES Weekend Programs, rates, and new program information are now available on the website.

Scholarships:

Scholarships are available to Berkeley Residents for the Echo Lake Youth Camp, CIT, 50+ Camp, and Family Camp programs. Our Youth Camp Scholarship program is supported by the Berkeley Echo Lake Camp Association (BELCA) and the Friends of Berkeley Tuolumne Camp (FOBTC). Last season, more than 30 youth campers received 100% fee waivers to attend Echo Lake Youth Camp. Scholarship eligibility is based upon income. To apply for a scholarship, please submit the scholarship application (below) along with the Echo Lake Camp program registration form(s) you are requesting.  Please allow at least five business days for eligibility determination.   

General Echo Lake Camp Information:

Straddling the Pacific Crest Trail and just minutes from Echo Lake and Desolation Wilderness, campers will be treated to an amazing alpine camping experience. Echo Lake Camp boasts incredible views and excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. Echo Lake Family Camp offers a regular daily activity schedule, including basketball, volleyball, bocce ball, disc-golf, canoeing, archery, and swimming.  Camp facilities include a nature center, recreation lodge, built in 1922, a dining hall where campers can enjoy excellent company and delicious meals, and of course, a green chair circle with an incredible view of the Lake Tahoe Basin.  For more information see the family camp welcome packet or the page about all camps at Echo Lake.

Whether exploring the beautiful environment at Echo Lake or taking part in traditional programs, songs, and activities, family campers will continue nearly a century of Berkeley family camp tradition.
