PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Recreation Customer Service Offices

Per Berkeley Public Health guidance on limiting the spread of COVID-19, all City of Berkeley recreation customer service offices are closed to the public starting Monday, March 16, 2020. Service is still available by phone or email.

The City of Berkeley Health Officer has ordered residents to shelter in place, leaving only for essential needs. Most City facilities are closed to the public. Read the latest changes to City services and COVID-19 information from Berkeley Public Health.

The Recreation Administration office is located at James Kenney Community Center 1st Fl. se are located in neighborhood facilities, where residents can more easily sign up for classes, camps, and programs.  The two offices are located at:

These offices will accept registration for all Recreation Division programs, activities, classes, and camps and respond to all recreation related inquires.  In addition, the James Kenney Office will process ballfield rentals, and the Willard Office will handle special event permits.  All Community Centers and Pools will continue to process registrations for programs and rentals taking place at their facilities.

 

Registration for aquatics programs and swim lessons is only available online, at King Pool (1700 Hopkins Street), or at West Campus Pool (2100 Browning Street).
