Q:   I received an email saying that I am on the list. What ranking am I?

A:   Does your notice indicate the category you are in? If so, the information is contained in the notice. If not, names are placed on the list in alphabetical order. We do not rank candidates by actual scores, rather candidates are banded in categories 1, 2, or 3 based on test results. We have rule of the list. This means that when the list is submitted to the hiring department, they review the applications for the knowledge, skills and abilities they are looking for. They can interview applicants from any category on the list.   (...back to top)

A:   We submit an employment eligible list to the hiring department. They review the applications for the knowledge, skills and abilities they are looking for. They can interview applicants from any category on the entire list. The list is good for up to one year, but it can be extended for an additional time frame. You can go into your application status in to your www.governmentjobs.com account and see the expiration date of the list. The best thing you can do now is keep your phone, address and email information up to date in the event the hiring manager attempts to contact you.   (...back to top)
