PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Crisis, Assessment, and Triage (CAT)

Our Purpose

We provide linkages to community based resources.  

The Crisis team also offers consultation services and coordinates with other agencies and groups.

Are you seeking services form BMH for the first time?
Drop in at the new location between 8 am and 1:30 pm, Monday through Thursday for screening and assessment.  You can also contact the Crisis, Assessment and Triage (CAT) team by phone at 510.981.5244 until 4 PM, Monday through Friday.  If we are unavailable, please leave a message.  This voicemail is checked frequently during the work day and we will return your call promptly.

What We Do

  • Assessment and linkage to community based resources.
  • Intensive outreach services and transportation for homeless persons, for persons-at-risk of homelessness, and for disabled persons
  • Disaster mental health planning, training, and services to the Berkeley and Albany communities including Critical Incident Stress Management Services for emergency personnel and community members who experience traumatic events
Who We Serve

We serve residents of Berkeley and Albany or homeless in Berkeley or Albany, 18 years or older.  Clients must be experiencing moderate to severe psychiatric crisis that is affecting major areas of life functioning OR demonstrate clear need for a thorough mental health evaluation and assessment to determine best possible intervention.

Fee: Sliding scale based on income; free services depending on income qualification.  We accept medi-cal insurance
