Crisis, Assessment, and Triage (CAT)

Our Purpose:
We provide linkages to community-based resources.
The Crisis team also offers consultation services and coordinates with other agencies and groups.

Are you seeking services form BMH for the first time?
Drop in at the new location between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Monday - Thursday for screening and assessment.

What We Do: 

  • Assessment and linkage to community-based resources.
  • Mental health screenings and assessments for out-patient services for Berkeley residents and those unhoused in Berkeley.
  • Information and Referrals to mental health and community-based resources also available.

Who We Serve:
We serve the residents and homeless in Berkeley, 18 years or older. Clients must be experiencing moderate to severe psychiatric crisis that is affecting major areas of life functioning as defined by Alameda County requirements OR who demonstrate clear need for a thorough mental health evaluation and assessment to determine best possible intervention.
