PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Tattooing, Body Piercing and Permanent Cosmetics

AB 300 the Safe Body Art Act was enacted on January 1, 2012 and takes full effect on July 1, 2012.  The Safe Body Art Act requires the registration of body art practitioners and the permitting and inspection of both permanent and temporary body art facilities, and the notification of operation of mechanical ear piercing businesess.  This law applies to all body art facilities which includes tattoos, branding, permanent cosmetics and piercing.
