Appeal T-5143 (1525 Fairview Street)

Tenant appeals a hearing examiner decision ordering the landlord to refund a total of $672.53 to tenant for rent overcharges related to habitability violations and decreases in services.  On appeal,
the tenant argues that the hearing examiner should have awarded more of a rent reduction but does not offer any analysis or provide any authority in support of her argument.  A review of the record establishes that the decision should be adjusted to grant the tenant a reduction for the mold in the closet.  For this reason, legal staff recommends that the Board adjust the total rent overcharges due the tenant by granting a reduction for the condition of the closet.
