To request a meeting agenda in large print, Braille, or on cassette, or to request a sign interpreter for the meeting, call the city clerk's office at 981-6900 (voice) or 981-6903 (ttd): at least five (5) working days prior to the meeting in order to ensure availability.

The time limit within which to commence any lawsuit or legal challenge related to the applications is governed by section 1094.6 of the code of civil procedure, unless a shorter limitations period is specified by any other provision. Under section 1094.6, any lawsuit or legal challenge to any quasi-adjudicative decision made by the city must be filed no later than the 90th day following the date on which such decision becomes final. Any lawsuit or legal challenge, which is not filed within that 90-day period, will be barred.

The applicant and or their designee will have five to ten minutes to make a presentation of their project to the Committee. The public is also invited to make a public comment if they wish. To do so, you should fill out a speaker card before the meeting starts and give it to the Secretary of the Committee. Please be advised that the Committee may limit the number of speakers and the length of time allowed to each speaker (three minutes is the usual amount of time allowed). Due to the large volume of projects, and the limited amount of time available to hear each project, the Design Review Committee has the right to re-arrange the order of the agenda in order to accommodate the projects that will not require a lot of time.


1.2398 BANCROFT WAY [at the corner of Dana] (DR#08-30000076):  Preliminary Design Review Follow-Up / Final Design Review of a 4-story mixed-use building containing 8 residential units (5 bedrooms each) and 5,322 sq. ft. of institutional program area.

2. 1200 ASHBY AVENUE [at San Pablo] (DR#07-30000100): Continued Preliminary Design Review of a new five-story mixed use building with 98 residential units, 7,770 square feet of commercial space and 114 parking spaces within a total building area of 112,365 square feet (including ground floor garage parking).

3. 1326 TENTH STREET [at Gilman] (DR#07-30000113): Continued Preliminary Design Review of a new 777 square feet food service establishment with patio, landscaping, and revised parking layout.

4.740 HEINZ AVENUE [near Southern Pacific Railway] (DR#08-30000068): Preliminary Design Review of a partial demolition of an existing single-story, 9,600 square foot, City of Berkeley Landmark (the Garr Building or Copra Warehouse) to construct a 4-story, 91,852 square foot building to contain research and development laboratories and pilot manufacturing facilities, with at least 10,000 square feet of warehouse floor area.
