PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Summer 2021 Program Registration

The City of Berkeley Recreation Division is planning to offer a wide variety of Summer 2021 programs including Summer Fun Camps, Echo Lake Family & Youth Camp programs, Berkeley Day Camp, Playground Program, and other activities and events for all ages. Registration for most Summer 2021 programs will begin this February (see below for dates).  Additional information including program dates, fees, and age ranges will be announced in the coming weeks.  All programs will be offered in compliance with City of Berkeley Health Orders, and plans may be modified prior to Summer in order to stay in compliance with public health guidelines.

Other Ways to Register 

In-Person Drop Off: Customer Service Hub is closed to in-person registration. Registration may be dropped off in our drop box which is to the left of the front door. Complete a Registration Form*  and drop registration form and a check at the Recreation Customer Service Hub located at 1720 8th Street, Berkeley, CA 94710.  

Mail-In: Complete a Registration Form* and mail it with a check/ Money Order payable to the CITY OF BERKELEY, to the Recreation Customer Service Hub,1720 8th Street, Berkeley, CA 94710.

E-mail: Complete a Registration Form* and email it to recreation@cityofberkeley.info. You must follow up with a phone call to 510-981-5150, then press “0” to process a credit card payment by phone to complete enrollment.

FAX: Complete a Registration Form* and fax it to 510-981-5160.  You must follow up with a phone call to 510-981-5150 then press “0” to process a credit card payment by phone to complete enrollment.

  *When submitting a registration form, be sure that it is filled out completely and clearly. All forms must include a signature and initial to acknowledge the refund policy.

  **Registration is ongoing and open until filled. The City reserves the right to cancel classes with enrollments under minimum requirement. Register ASAP to ensure enrollment in the program.

 

Refund Policy

All requests for refunds must be directed to the Recreation & Youth Services Manager, Recreation Division, 1720 8th Street, Berkeley, CA 94710 or email Recreation@cityofberkeley.info. The  original receipt must be submitted with a written request for a refund. The request must state the reason for the refund, and the date, time and location of the program. The Recreation and Youth Services Manager will render a decision to either: 1) refund the fee; 2) pro-rate the fee; 3) apply the fees to another session or program; or 4) deny the request.   

A. Recreation and Marina Program & Services: No refunds or credit will be granted without 7 days notice prior to start of class or date of reservation. The City will deduct 25% of the amount paid from the refund to cover administration expenses or will add a minimum $10.00 service charge (whichever is greater).  

B. Camp Programs: No refunds will be provided if cancellation is made less than 30 days before camp arrival date. A refund will be provided if the entire reservation is cancelled not less than 30 calendar days prior to arrival date, less a 25% administration fee not to exceed $150.
