PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

  • Take BART to the downtown Berkeley station

  • Exit the station  ( you will be on Shattuck Avenue )

  • Walk south until you cross Allston Way
    ( hint: if you cross Addison St, turn around and go the other way on Shattuck Ave )

  • Turn right on Allston Way and travel one block to Milvia Street

  • Turn right on Milvia Street  ( we're in that block )


By freeway   ( from north or south bay )

  • Take highway I-80 to Berkeley

  • Get off at the University Avenue exit going east ( towards the hills, away from the bay )

  • Go up University Avenue for approximately two miles until you get to Milvia Street

  • Turn right on Milvia and travel two blocks to get to 2180 Milvia Street


By freeway   ( from east bay via Caldecott tunnel )

  • Take freeway CA-24 to Berkeley

  • Get off at the Telegraph Avenue exit

  • Turn right onto Telegraph Avenue

  • Travel about 2 miles up Telegraph Avenue until it ends at Bancroft Way

  • Turn left on Bancroft Way and go about ½ mile until it ends at Milvia Street

  • Turn right on Milvia and go two blocks to 2180 Milvia Street
