Family, Youth, and Children’s Services (FYC)

The Berkeley Mental Health, Family, Youth, and Children's Services (FYC) Clinic will be closed to the public every Friday due to staffing shortages:
Due to pandemic-related staffing shortages, FYC will be temporarily closed to the public every Friday beginning January 28 through the end of February 2022. Please visit our clinic Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. We apologize for any inconvenience.

FYC service providers seek to provide mental health services that empower children, youth, and families and promote healing from trauma, healthy development and improved wellbeing. Our staff provide services in confidential, caring, and respectful ways that are sensitive to the unique needs of every race, culture, religion, gender, socio-economic status, and sexual orientation. 


Who We Serve
Family, Youth & Children’s Services (FYC) provides comprehensive mental health services to residents of Berkeley or those who attend school in Berkeley; who are under the age of 21, and have Alameda County Medi-Cal insurance. We also serve Berkeley High School and Berkeley Technology Academy through the Health Center that is located on the B.H.S. campus. These collaborative services are provided with an individualized, strength-based, and culturally responsive focus.

• Full Service Partnership (Wrap Services)
• Psycho-Educational classes
• Group Therapy
• Medication Support
• Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation


Accessibility:
• Language(s) Spoken: English and Spanish. Services can be provided through translation service for any language.
• Fee: Sliding scale based on income. We accept Medi-Cal insurance
• Wheelchair Accessible


Staff:
Psychiatrists, Licensed/Unlicensed Therapists, and B.A. level Care Managers, Peers and Family Members.


Interested in Services?
If you are interested in accessing our services, you can call our intake supervisor at (510) 981-7642 to schedule an in-person appointment or to conduct the intake over the phone. You can also visit our facility from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment. Our in-person intake hours are 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. To facilitate the process, have your child’s Alameda County Medi-Cal card and be ready to discuss your needs with the intake supervisor.


After Hours Crisis Phone Line for FSP Only:
After hours crisis phone line: 510-981-5259. This will connect you to Crisis Support Services of Alameda County, who will provide crisis support, referrals, and communicate the next morning with your treatment team around any ongoing needs.


ARE YOU IN IMMEDIATE NEED OF ASSISTANCE?
The Mobile Crisis Team is available 5 days a week, 11:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., closed Tuesdays and Saturdays. They can be reached via the Berkeley Police Department’s non-emergency number at (510) 981-5900. Ask dispatch for a mental health worker. To leave a voicemail, call (510) 981-5254.
