Community Resilience Center Program 

The Community Resilience Center (CRC) Program is gives community organizations in the City of Berkeley the tools, resources, and training needed to serve as hubs for assistance and information during and following disasters.

Program Goal

The CRC Program's goal is to enhance the resilience of the people of Berkeley by strengthening the organizations they depend on day-to-day and providing disaster preparedness outreach and training through organizations they know and trust.

CRC Organization Roles and Responsibilities

CRC organizations agree to host trainings and participate in disaster preparedness-related events that are customized to fit their audiences. In return for hosting training they receive a cache of emergency supplies to help them serve their community following a disaster.

Help the City reach community members not well-served by existing preparedness programs

Support their members and serve as a conduit of information to their community 

Contribute "cache" equipment to the response

Facilitate faster recovery through city and community relationships

The City selected CRC organizations based on their connection to Berkeley community members who have not been reached by the City's existing preparedness programs. Current Community Resilience Centers are:

The CRC program is coordinated by the Berkeley Ready team, made up of staff from the Office of Emergency Services, Public Health Division, and City Manager's Office.
