Human Welfare & Community Action Commission

Mission:
Advises the Council concerning social welfare needs.  Creates citizen awareness and encourages improved standards.  Assists in the administration of the Community Action Program.  Total membership is fifteen.  Four of the nine council appointees shall be members or officials of business, industry, labor, religious, welfare, education, or major groups and interests in the community, as required by Government Code Section 12736(e); 12750(a)(2), and 12751.  Six members shall be representatives of the poor, elected two from each of three districts established by the Council. Elected members shall be elected for terms of four years, serving no more than eight years total.  Appointed members shall be appointed for one-year terms which expire December 1st of each year.

3rd Wednesday every month (except August and December), 7:00 p.m.
