BPD REQUESTS COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE WITH ROBBERY INVESTIGATION

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, November 24, 2021) - Berkeley PD is asking for community assistance to solve a robbery and assault that occurred near Berkeley Way and Sacramento Street.

On 11/22/2021 BPD received a report of a robbery and assault that occurred in the 1400 block of Berkeley Way.  The victim reported that around 4:40 a.m. he was walking home when he was confronted by four men who demanded his property.  The victim fought back and was able to retain his items, but in the fight he was stabbed with a knife.  Fortunately, he did not suffer serious injury and was later treated at a local hospital.

The suspects were driving in a dark colored, possibly green or black, Toyota Camry sedan.

The first suspect was described as a Black male, wearing a grey beanie style cap, a face mask and a blue and red football style jersey, similar to a New York Giants jersey.  He was armed with a kitchen style knife.

The second suspect was described as an Asian male, around 6’02” tall, wearing a grey track suit and a face mask.

The third and fourth suspects were described as males, with no further description.

Berkeley PD is seeking information and assistance from the public to solve this crime.  We are asking anyone who may have seen a part of the incident, or saw the suspects before or after the attack to contact us.  It is also possible that community members’ home security cameras captured relevant information.  Anyone who has any information about this incident is asked to contact the BPD Robbery detail at 510-981-5724.  They can also email to negbert@cityofberkeley.info.

We appreciate your attention and assistance.
