PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

BERKELEY’S WINTER ON THE WATERFRONT DECEMBER 14
Celebrate winter with real snow, a lighted boat parade, and fireworks

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, December 11, 2019) - Come out to Berkeley's waterfront on Saturday to celebrate winter with activities for all ages including real snow, a lighted boat parade, visits with Santa, and a fireworks display over the Bay. 

There will be plenty of children's activities like face painting, carnival games with prizes, a tot play area to keep the little ones entertained, and this year, families will have the opportunity to play in real snow! 

Decorate cookies or enjoy a cup of free hot cocoa while listening to holiday music and enjoying some of the best views around. Santa Claus will be at the event to visit with families and maybe even pose for a selfie or two!2019-12-11 Winter on the Waterfront

At 5:30pm, line up on Seawall Drive for best viewing of the Annual Lighted Boat Parade. You'll see boats dressed up in holiday lights sail, motor, or paddle in a loop just outside the harbor. We'll also have a small-scale fireworks display.

The event is sponsored the Berkeley Yacht Club, Berkeley Marine Center, Doubletree Hotel, Skates on the Bay, Alpha Design, and Hana Japan Restaurant.  This event promises to be a lively and festive way to spend a winter day.
