REPEAT THIEF WANTED FOR RECENT YOGA THEFT

Berkeley, California (Monday, November 25, 2019) - On September 26th between 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm, a suspect took a person’s wallet and clothing from a Yoga studio in Downtown Berkeley.  During the investigation, Christopher Damon Newton (Male, 26 years old, 6’1”, large build, Oakland, CA) was identified as a suspect in the crime.  Since that time, a judge approved a warrant for his arrest on suspicion of burglary, identity theft and violation of probation.

In previous incidents, Mr. Newton has been known to frequent Yoga Studios throughout the Bay Area—taking items from the patrons practicing yoga.  We are sharing this information now because we believe there are other thefts that have not yet been reported.

If you see Mr. Newton, please contact the Berkeley Police Department (510-981-5900) or notify the nearest police agency.

If you have any information about this case, please contact Berkeley Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit at (510) 981-5737.
