Get Rebates to Improve Indoor Air Quality and Comfort

Berkeley, California (Monday, November 04, 2019) - Come to a free workshop to learn about how you can improve the air quality in your home while also saving energy, reducing utility bills and increasing comfort.

Indoor air quality is typically two to five times worse than outdoor air quality and can worsen common illnesses such as allergies and asthma.

At our November 17 workshop, learn how to keep pollutants and allergens out of your home. We'll tell you about cash rebates and how you can get a state-selected energy advisor to help guide your home improvements and connect you to certified contractors.

How air comes into your home has an impact on both health and energy. Reducing drafts and improving ventilation are critical. The workshop will give homeowners a chance to meet BayREN Home+ certified contractors, part of a state program to improve energy efficiency that's funded through utility ratepayers.

Participants will learn about the $5000 Home+ rebates available for a variety of home upgrades such as heating and cooling equipment, air and duct sealing, and insulation, and different options for financing home improvements. Get a chance to ask industry experts your questions.

The City of Berkeley encourages participation in the BayREN Home+ program as it aligns with the efforts of our Climate Action Plan and Resilience Strategy, supporting the City's Strategic Plan goal of being a global leader in addressing climate change, advancing environmental justice, and protecting the environment. Additionally, participation in the BayREN Home+ program may help your property comply with the City's Building Energy Savings Ordinance (BESO), which requires an energy assessment at the time of sale.Join us at the November 17 Healthier Home workshop and discover how you can make your home both healthy and green.
