PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Apply online for YouthWorks jobs, stepping stones for college, careers

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, October 02, 2019) - Berkeleyans between 14 and 25 years of age can apply to be part of YouthWorks, which allows youth to get valuable work experience while getting paid.

YouthWorks places local youth in after school jobs that last up to 7 weeks, for up to 15 hours per week, earning $14.50 per hour beginning in early January 2020. Youth can work in office administration, local government, youth development, and more! 

Valuable work experience can play an important role for young people's professional, financial, social and emotional well-being. Over the years, thousands of Berkeley youth have used YouthWorks as a stepping stone for career and college preparation.

Apply online by Friday, November 1, 2019 at 5pm. Youth must be at least 14 years of age by November 15, 2019.
