YouthWorks Jobs Often Serve as Stepping-stones for College, Careers

Berkeley, California (Tuesday, October 02, 2018) - Berkeleyans between 14 and 25 years of age are encouraged to apply to be part of YouthWorks, which provides youth with valuable paid work experience.

YouthWorks places local youth in after-school jobs that last up to 7 weeks, for up to 15 hours per week, earning $13.25 per hour, beginning in early January 2019. Youth can work in office administration, childcare, youth development, and other fields.

Valuable work experience can play an important role for young people's professional, financial, and emotional well-being. Over the years, thousands of Berkeley youth have used YouthWorks as a stepping stone for career- and college-preparation. Applications are available now and are due by Friday November 2, 2018.

Applicants must submit completed applications to the YouthWorks office.  Youth must be at least 14 years of age at the time of application and need to come in person to the YouthWorks office to pick up an application.

YouthWorks and the Berkeley Public Library can help youth learn how to create a resume or spruce up an existing one.  Berkeley youth can come to one of these FREE resume workshops:
