OVERNIGHT SHOOTINGS HAVE POLICE ASKING FOR COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE

Berkeley, California (Friday, April 13, 2018) - The Berkeley Police Department is askingfor information regarding two shootings which occurred on April 12, 2018.  At approximately 9:39pm, the Berkeley PoliceDepartment received multiple calls of shots fired in front of two differentaddresses on the 1600 block of Russell Street in South Berkeley.  Officers responded to the scene and found nogunshot victims but evidence which indicated a significant number of shots werefired causing some property damage.

At 9:48pm, another shooting was reported onthe 2900 block of Mabel Street.  Officersresponded there but found no victims.  Atthis time it is unknown if the two events are related.

BPD is asking for anyone who has anyinformation regarding these crimes to contact the Homicide Detail at(510)981-5741.  Detectives are alsoasking homeowners to review and share any surveillance video relevant to the shootings.
