Be Part of Nearly a Century of Berkeley Tradition

Berkeley, California (Thursday, January 11, 2018) - Berkeley residents can now register for Echo Lake family camp, which continues traditions built through generations of campers amidst the beauty of the High Sierras.

The six weeks of 2018 family camp, which blends camp culture of both Echo Lake and Berkeley Tuolumne family camps, are from June 16 to July 22 and from July 27 to July 29.  The registration form, registration schedules, the calendar, and program fees are on the Echo Lake Camp website. Echo Lake - Chair view

 Other camps at Echo Lake include Off-Season (Fish) Camps, Work Weekend, Youth Sleep-Away Camp, Counselor-In-Training (CIT) programs, and 50+ adult camping programs. There will also be the return of our Artist-In-Residence and Guest Chef programs. 

Berkeley residents can start to register for Family and Fish camps at 9am at the Recreation Administration Office, at 2701 Telegraph Ave. Non-Berkeley resident's registration begins Friday, January 12 at 9am at the same location

  • 50+ Camp registration is currently open, and space is still available.
  • Online Youth Camp and CIT registration Echo Lake - Panoramawill open January 17, 2018.

Schedules, rates, and new program information are now available on the City of Berkeley Echo Lake Camp Website. You can call the Recreation Office at 981-5140 or visit us online.  

Straddling the Pacific Crest Trail and just minutes from Echo Lake and Desolation Wilderness, campers will be treated to an amazing alpine camping experience. Echo Lake Camp boasts incredible viewsEcho Lake - Pink Sunset
and excellent outdoor recreation opportunities. 
Echo Lake Family Camp offers a regular daily activity schedule, including basketball, volleyball, bocce ball, disc-golf, canoeing, archery, and swimming.  Camp facilities include a nature center, recreation lodge, built in 1922, a dining hall where campers can enjoy excellent company and delicious meals, and of course, a green chair circle with an incredible view of the Lake Tahoe Basin.
