On November 24, 2017 anunidentified woman broke into a locker at a gym on the 2600 block of ShattuckAvenue and later used the victim's cars keys to enter her car.  The suspect stole credit cards from thevehicle which were used to make over $20,000 worth of fraudulent purchases.Yancy was later identified as the suspect from video surveillance.

On November 16, 2017 a warrant was issued for her arrest.in December 7, 2017 Yancy was contacted at her home in Richmond during a warrant service by Berkeley Police Detectives.  During a search of her home, car, and a storage locker, stolen property from the three burglaries was recovered.

Yancy was arrested for three counts of burglary, two counts of identity theft, two counts of grand theft, and possession of stolen property.

The Berkeley Police Department takes great pride in the investigative efforts of its detectives.  We understand the impact that identity theft can have on our community and work hard to bring those responsible to justice.
