BPD: ARREST MADE IN FRATERNITY HOUSE ROBBERY

Berkeley, California (Tuesday, February 14, 2017) -   On 09/04/2016 at approximately 2:45am, a community member called the Berkeley Police Department to report that two males had just entered their fraternity house on the 2300 block of Piedmont Ave and robbed him and his friends at gunpoint. Officers responded to the scene where they contacted 3 victims.  The victims reported that they had just cleared out a party and were hanging out in the common room playing a drinking game when the two suspects entered, one of them brandishing a handgun, and the other demanding their property.  The suspects fled through a back door in an unknown direction with the victims' property.  One of the victim's reported that the two suspects had been at the party earlier in the evening.

During the course of the subsequent investigation a suspect was identified and a warrant for his arrest was placed in the system.  The suspect was arrested on 2/11/17 in Oakland for BPD's warrant.  Arrested was Kameron Robinson-Tom 18, of Oakland.  Robinson-Tom gave a full confession and admitted to a number of other robberies.  Robbery Detectives have also been successful in developing further information on the identity of the second suspect.

We are grateful to the assistance provided by the Oakland Police Department in helping us close this case by arrest.
