Berkeley, California (Wednesday, October 19, 2016) - Join artists and cultural leaders this Friday afternoon for the unveiling of the latest collection of local works on display at Berkeley's Martin Luther King Jr. Civic Center.

The free celebration is open to the public and honors 32 talented Berkeley artists whose pieces were selected from an open call for entries, which yielded over 150 submissions. The artwork will be on display in the building through August 2017.

You can also view the works online.

The Civic Center Art Exhibition is the City of Berkeley's opportunity to demonstrate the richness of artistic production within its community. The annual exhibition is produced through a collaborative effort with Berkeley Art Center, Kala Art Institute, the Civic Arts Commission and Civic Arts Coordinator.

Members of the public can purchase the art through the City of Berkeley's Civic Arts Program. All proceeds go directly to the artists.
