Berkeley, California (Tuesday, August 30, 2016) - The City of Berkeley is offering a $15,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) responsible for the death of Alex Goodwin Jr. 22, of Berkeley.  Goodwin was shot and killed in the City's first homicide of 2016. 

 On Thursday, August 19, 2016 at approximately 11:58pm, the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) responded to multiple calls of gunfire in the area of Burnett and Mabel Streets.  Officers found the unresponsive victim (later identified as Goodwin) outside his family's home.  Goodwin was rushed by the Berkeley Fire Department to the Alameda County Hospital where he later died of his injuries. 

Detectives are asking for the community's help with this investigation. Anyone who may have any information regarding this crime is urged to call the BPD Homicide Detail at (510) 981-5741 (office).
