The City of Berkeley Health Officer has ordered all residents to shelter at home, leaving only to receive or provide essential services, starting 12:01 am on Tuesday, March 17. PG&E is reporting a widespread outage affecting thousands of customers in Berkeley and many City buildings, including the Finance Customer Service Center and the Permit Service Center. Call respective City services for further details, or check the PG&E outage page. Power is expected to return by 12:45pm. Traffic lights that are not working should be treated as a four-way stop sign.

Berkeley, California (Thursday, June 30, 2016) - Do you have a strong desire to build positive relationships in a diverse community?  Are you, or someone you know, interested in a rewarding and challenging career in law enforcement?  If you answered yes to both of these questions and have the uncanny ability to maintain your composure when the pressure is on, then you might have what it takes to become a Berkeley Police Officer.

The deadline for entry-level (or Recruit) applications is 5 p.m. on July 25, 2016. Lateral and academy graduate applications are accepted on an open and continuous basis. The examination dates are scheduled during the month of August.
