Public invited to Corp Yard to see behind the scenes

Berkeley, California (Monday, May 21, 2012) - Public Works Week was instituted more than 50 years ago to highlight the importance of public works in community life. The City of Berkeley is celebrating Public Works Week this week (May 20 - 26) with an exhibition of photographs that celebrates the legacy of its employees and with an all-day open house at the Corp Yard, where the public can meet staff and get an up-close look at Public Works equipment.

Photo Exhibits: The photo exhibits juxtapose historical and contemporary images as a “then and now” look at the people and projects that create the infrastructure and services that help shape Berkeley. The historical photos appear courtesy of the Berkeley Historical Society. The modern photos were provided by Public Works.
