Open to All Artists Who Live or Work in Berkeley

Berkeley, California (Wednesday, September 29, 2010) - The Berkeley Civic Arts Commission announces the Call for Artists for the 2010-2011 Civic Center Art Competition. This opportunity is open to artists who live or work in Berkeley. Application guidelines are available on the City's website at www.ci.berkeley.info. There is no fee to apply. Deadline for entry is October 13, 2010.

Approximately 30 artists will be selected through an open juried competition. Accepted artists will receive a honoraria of $150 for display of their art work in the Berkeley Martin Luther King, Jr. Civic Center Building, 2180 Milvia Street, for approximately one year.  The Berkeley Art Center and Kala Art Institute are assisting the Civic Arts Office in organizing and managing this competition.
