Last night, June 16, 2010, OPD officers followed Williams from a motel in the City of Richmond to the City of Oakland. Williams fled from the car he was driving and after a brief foot chase, he was taken into custody without further incident. Doran Williams, Jr. is a member of the North Oakland Bushrod gang who call themselves the “Cold Gunnaz”. The motive for the shootings and whether this is part of an ongoing Oakland/Berkeley border feud is still being investigated.

On May 20, 2010, at approximately 11:03 a.m., the Berkeley Police Department (BPD) responded to reports of gunshots in front of an apartment building in the 1700 of 63rd Street in south Berkeley. Patrol officers found two victims, a 39 year-old male and a 57 year-old female. Both were critically injured and remain hospitalized.

Williams was booked into the BPD Jail for one count of PC187(a)/664(a) – Attempted Murder and one count of PC 245 (a)(2) – Assault With A Deadly Weapon/Firearm. Williams is scheduled to be arraigned on June 18, 2010.
