Berkeley, California (Tuesday, March 31, 2009) - On Monday, March 30, 2009 City of Berkeley Police Department (BPD) Detectives in conjunction with officers from Richmond and the El Cerrito Police Departments served a search warrant on the 5600 Block of Alameda Street in El Cerrito.

The warrant was focused on three outstanding suspects (pictured below) responsible for a violent home invasion robbery that occurred in February on the 600 block of Santa Barbara Avenue.  Though the suspects were not found at the Alameda Street address, the constant pressure placed on them by police apparently proved to be too much.  Yesterday evening at 9:00 p.m., the suspects turned themselves in to BPD detectives in the City of Fairfield.

The last of the eight suspects reportedly surrendered to police because, “They were tired of running.”  The three suspects were booked into the City of Berkeley Jail for Home Invasion Robbery and Torture and will remain there until they appear in to court on Thursday.

BPD would like to thank the media’s assistance in keeping the limelight on these suspects while they continued their efforts to find and arrest them.
