Funding for Berkeley-based arts organizations and individual artist projects and for festivals and special events taking place in Berkeley for Fiscal Year 2019/2020 (July 1, 2019 – June 30, 2020).

GRANT APPLICATION WORKSHOPS
There are two technical assistance workshops to review grant application requirements and provide instruction on using the on-line grant application system.

ARTS ORGANIZATIONS
Arts Organization Grants provide general
operating support for a wide array of nonprofit arts organizations and arts
programs of service nonprofits throughout Berkeley. Organizations should apply
according to their budget size. Please review the full grants guidelines linked

Apply Now - Small Organizations for grants up to $10,000.
Small Organizations have budgets up to $100,000.
Apply Now - Mid-Size Organizations for grants up to $14,000.
Mid-Size Organizations have budgets between $100,000 and $1,000,000.
Apply Now - Large Organizations for grants up to $17,000.
Large Organizations have budgets over $1,000,000.
INDIVIDUAL ARTIST PROJECTS
Individual
Artist Project Grants support individual artists living and producing art in
Berkeley culminating in a local public presentation of their work for the
benefit of the community within the grant period. Grant funded projects may
include: dance, music, theater, visual arts, social practice, media arts, film,

FESTIVALS
Festival
Grants support community festivals and special events throughout the City of
Berkeley from small-scale and first-time events to large scale and established
festivals. Applicants should apply according to the event budget size. Please

Apply Now - Small Events for grants up to $5,000.
Small Events have event budgets up to $5,000.
Apply Now - Mid-Size Events for grants up to $14,000.
Mid-Size Events have event budget between $5,000 and $50,000.
Apply Now - Large Events for
grants up to $17,000.
Large Events have event budgets over $50,000.

May 22, 2019 Civic Arts Commission adopts funding award recommendations
June 25, 2019 City Council meeting (grant allocations on agenda)
June 27, 2019 Award Letters & Invoices mailed to Grantees
GRANT APPLICATION REVIEW PANEL MEETINGS
Applicants are encouraged to attend the Grant Review Panel meeting which will be held during normal City business hours and will be publicly accessible. The grant review schedule and meeting locations will be made available here once they are scheduled. Grant applicants will be notified regarding the approximate time when their application will be reviewed.

VENDOR FORMS
If awarded funding, first time grantees must submit the following forms to be established as payees within the City of Berkeley’s financial system. You are not required to submit these forms until you are notified of your grant award.

FINAL REPORTS
Final reports for Fiscal Year 2018/2019 Grantees are due no later than August 29, 2019, 60 days after the end of the fiscal year. A final report template will be made available here in spring 2019.
