Japanese Tea Garden by Mary Fitzgibbons

New Show by Local Quilters at the Addison Street Window Gallery

The latest show now on display in the Addison Street Window Gallery on Addison Street in the Arts district of Berkeley is an impressive demonstration of quilting art produced by members of the East Bay Heritage Quilters. The show opened on September 1 and runs through October 15th.

This is the first of a series of shows in the windows that will focus on educating the public to the different forms of art and go into some depth regarding the variety of approaches to the chosen form of art on display. This first show demonstrates the variety of methods of quilting. The show was organized with the assistance of Jenny Alexich who pulled together various works done by members and students of the East Bay Heritage Quilters. The quilts demonstrate a variety of styles and forms that this art form can take and there are works from approximately 40 members of the East Bay Heritage Quilters on display.

The Addison Street Windows offer the public a revolving series of shows during the year and the art is visible at all day and until midnight.  The windows are located in the Arts district of Berkeley across from the Berkeley Reparatory Theater and next to the new Freight and Salvage Music Building.

The enchanting display of quilt art runs from September 1 through October 15 at the Addison Street Window Gallery on Addison Street between Shattuck and Milvia in the Berkeley Arts District.
